Cook with Budgett wishes you a very Happy Bhaidooj on behalf of all the beloved sisters out there. We are back with simply best yet tasty recipes. Today's recipe on the day of Bhaidooj- Makhana ladoo recipe is an easy recipe to make and healthy ladoo made with Phool makhana with the key ingredients nuts and jaggery. Phool makhana is considered to be a great source of protein and carbohydrates etc. So it's very good for growing kids. Cook with budgett always tries to surprise you with simply best yet tasty recipes of makhana which can be prepared at home and once the taste gets embedded into the mouth from since then the demand for it is never-ending.


Ingredients

  • 2 and 1/2 cups to 3 cups Phool makhana
  • Quarter cup almonds
  • Quarter cup cashews
  • Quarter cup peanuts
  • Three tsp ghee

For jaggery syrup:

  • One cup jaggery
  • Quarter cup water


Instructions

  • Add 2-3 tsp ghee, dry roast makhana till it gets completely crispy. Now the time of Break and check if it's crisp. Powder it coarsely and keep it aside.
  • In the same pan add a few peanuts roast till it gets totally crispy, peel off the skin, and set it aside. Add almonds and cashews. Roast till brown spots appear onto it, add it now along with peanuts, and powder it.
  • Heat up the jaggery with little water, For starters first let it melt completely. Then check for a thin single thread consistency. Switch the flame off after that.
  • Strain and add the syrup to the pan. Add makhana powder into it and nuts powder. Mix it well and cook it for 2 mins then switch the flame off.
  • When it's warm enough to handle, add the remaining one tsp of ghee mix well then shape them as ladoos. Repeat it and finish by making all ladoos.

Notes

  • In order to get a perfect blend of tastes. Make sure you switch off exactly at thin single thread consistency else you will not able to make ladoos evenly and perfectly to make today's recipe on the day of bhaidooj. The syrup will tend to harden if you pass that stage.
  • Also when it's still warm start shaping the ladoos, do not cool down the mixture completely as it will be hard to make sweet ladoos after that.
  • You can add cardamom powder if you want for flavor.
  • You can even reduce jaggery syrup and add raisins or dates to give natural sweetness.
