Today we will cook again a simply best yet tasty recipe and we name it Rajasthani Makki ka dhokla which is a sheer vegetarian, spongy and savoury steamed fluffy recipe. As the name itself showcases that, this specific recipe is made by Makki AKA maize flour(Makki ka Atta) with some crushed green peas and other flavourful ingredients.

Ingredients Of Makki Ka Dhokla 

  • Half cup Peas (crushed)
  • Two Chopped green chillies
  • One inch Chopped ginger
  • Half tsp Fennel seeds
  • Two tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • Half tsp turmeric powder
  • Half tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of Baking Soda
  • One cup Water
  • Two tbsp Oil
  • 4-5 Curry Leaves

How to Make Makki Ka Dhokla

1.Take a large container and add maize flour into it with some red chilli powder with cumin seeds there along with fennel seeds, turmeric powder and some coriander powder.

2.Now add crushed peas aside with finely chopped green chillies and baking soda with coriander leaves into the mixture.

3.Make a soft dough by calmly and patiently adding water to it. Then keep it aside for approximately 11-16 minutes.

4.Take small portions out from the dough and make a shape in form of a circular disc and pierce it in between by using your finger itself.

5.Now steam the dhoklas for the next 11-16 minutes or until they get completely soft and spongy enough.

6.Serve it with mint chutney.
