Teekhe aloo ki chatpati roti - Cook with Budgett

For the dough

▢Four cups of Aashirvad whole wheat flour

▢3 cups water

▢One teaspoon salt to taste

▢Two tablespoons of vegetable oil 

Potato stuffing

▢4 medium-sized potatoes boiled as well as peeled

▢One teaspoon jeera powder

▢Half teaspoon Everest coriander powder

▢One-two teaspoon garam masala

▢Three teaspoons sugar(optional)

▢One teaspoon salt or add according to taste

▢One teaspoon Everest turmeric/halthi powder

▢Half normal cup finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing finely chopped

▢two teaspoon Everest chili powder

▢5 green chilies finely chopped

▢Half teaspoon dry mango powder or amchur powder we say or squeeze of 1 lemon


 Making the stuffing of teekhe aloo ki chatpati roti  

Boil the potatoes with the peeler on. let them cool down properly before peeling the skin.

Mash them properly with mashed till the point when no chunks remain. Let it cool completely then add the rest of the ingredients in the stuffing.

Making the dough 

As the potatoes are cooling down, on the other hand, will start making the dough.

Join wheat flour, salt, a tablespoon of oil along with one cup of water, and start kneading, beating it.

Don't forget to put water from time to time so that the dough get bind up together and becomes like a ball

Add the remaining oil to the dough and knead, beat till the oil gets properly absorbed.

If the dough comes out to be sticky, sprinkle approximately ¼/quater teaspoon wheat flour (or as per the need) over the dough and knead again to form a dough that is not sticky. The quality of good dough should be soft and looks fluffy.

Cover it up with cotton dough and set aside for 20-25 minutes.

Rolling out now our chatpati roti with teekhe aloo

Pick up your dough from it further divide it into small balls, now place two tablespoonfuls of the teekhe aloo stuffing in the center.

Grab the edges and stick them as a whole by bringing it together at the center.

Pinch them together to seal proof them and flatten them using your palm.

For perfect use your rolling pin or belan to roll into a flat, round shape. Do this delicately - with the help of dusting flour as needed to help with this process as on the rolling board your flat dough may get stick.

Now dust off excess flour from the roti by placing it on your palm of one hand and then flip it on the palm of your other hand. Repeat this process 3-4 times and place it on tawa and bake your roti out.
